I’m deciding between reconnecting my driver’s side speakers, or cleaning & restoring the engine’s valve cover. The little things. What’s OPPO working on today?

Repainted in the same color, or are you changing it up? My MR2 was a dark blue before but I got a much brighter blue for the re-paint.

tbh im a loner and shit like that makes me question why i have friends.... that said... dude was practically crying on the phone.. didnt seem like a good time to tell him to go fuck himself :p

I am considering a full repaint to NorSea Blue, but I’m not 100% sold on it. So will probably save money and just have the body shop restore any chips and scratches, and get the new body panels painted up. And while we’re at it, get the roof holes repaired.

Deciding on whether I want to replace the Miata’s speedometer cable in the smoke or not. I’m leaning towards not. I pulled the Lancer battery to give it a charge since I’m sick of parking tickets. If I get up the nerve, I’ll hop in the garage and work on Exocet wiring. Should also check the oil in the Miata.

Not working, FLYING! I guess you could say I’m working hard on getting to solo. I’m sitting here this afternoon learning my way around an airport so I can find my way to the right ramp without assistance.

I spent all day (until it got dark 20 minutes ago) tending to the leaves in the back yard, which were under snow when I went to bed last night. Work has had me out of town almost constantly since the beginning of September (which sucks and is not what I agreed to) so anything and everything around the house has gone to shambles (because I have not been home). I’m hoping the weather holds out tomorrow so I can at least finish the leaves.

I did fluid film the 4runner’s frame last night, hoping to stain some baseboard tonight ( in the garage). As for automotive stuff I’d like to be doing, too much to list and it won’t happen any time soon (see above; I’m not allowed to enjoy things anymore).

Onyxia went into storage this morning, before the winter storm hit. We’re expecting up to 3 inches overnight along with plows and salt . So tomorrow and Monday will be actually properly setting her up in the storage unit.

Hopefully tomorrow flushing the heater core in the Passat, which is now annual maintenance if you want heat.

Gettin dirty :)

Finally bought the updated valve cover for my S10. Theres a TSB on where the baffle plate doesnt seal anymore and oil gets sucked into the intake, which mine does. The recent cold weather gave me a misfire on cylinder 2 and will do a whole ignition tune up (1st time on S10) . My plugs are all junked because of the oil anyway.

C hanged the oil in both our rigs - mine really needed it but the wife’s only had gone 2200 miles since the last change, oh well, c an’t hurt. One slightly funny story - I got my wife’s car up on ramps and I go to pull the key out of the ignition and it won’t come out. I fiddle and fiddle for several minutes - no luck. Put a drop of WD40 where the key goes in and let it sit for 10 minutes, still no luck - WTF?  Turns out I am a moron and hadn’t put the car in park, just neutral, and there is a key lock out in the ignition . Apparently these new fangled “automatic” transmissions are too much for my rapidly aging brain to handle ...

Well, I had no plans on wrenching at all, but it appears my car had a different idea of how to spend m y free time and my money this week. It has developed an issue where there's some weird fluctuation in revs when out of gear. I already checked for vacuum leaks and disconnected swiitches, couldnt find anything, whoch leads me to believe it might be the head gasket. F*ck.
